Commissioners honor Tracy Thompson for nearly 24 years of service at register of deeds

Commissioner Perna read a proclamation noting Thompson began with the county on Jan. 14, 2002, worked initially in the court clerk's file room and later in the Register of Deeds office, and contributed to in-depth public land-file searches and the implementation of an electronic public land-file system. The proclamation recognized her "exceptional professionalism, unwavering dedication, and consistency" and extended congratulations as she prepares to retire and relocate to Florida.
Tracy Thompson responded, saying she had not expected the tribute and describing the office as "like family." Commissioners and colleagues offered personal remarks of appreciation.
The tribute was presented with the board's concurrence following the adoption of the agenda and was entered into the meeting record; no formal action beyond the proclamation was required. The board wished Thompson well in retirement.
