Macomb County commissioners adopt Brownfield plan, two ordinances and multiple committee recommendations

Macomb County's Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 11 to approve a new Brownfield plan for the Centerline Commerce Center and to adopt two county ordinances, while also passing a series of committee recommendations and appointments.
The board adopted Resolution 2025-14461 "to approve the Centerline Commerce Center Brownfield plan for the county of Macomb pursuant to and in accordance with provisions of Act 381 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan of 1996, as amended," after the chair called for a vote; the motion passed 13-0. Chair announced the adoption of the resolution with no public comment at the hearing.
The board also adopted two ordinances. The first, read as "Ordinance 2025-03," amends the county's comprehensive contracting and purchasing policies to add penalties and consequences for violations; the second item (read on the floor as Ordinance 2025-04) amends the county's enrolled fiscal 2026 comprehensive general appropriations ordinance. Seeing no speakers, commissioners voted to adopt both ordinances 13-0.
Committee recommendations from seven standing committees were advanced as a block where appropriate. The government oversight item 10a passed 11-2 (Commissioners Goicky and Kraft recorded as voting no); a larger group of items (10b'u) passed 13-0. Finance Audit Budget items 11a and 11b, Internal Services items 12a'c, Health & Human Services 13a'b, Public Services 14a'j and Records & Public Safety 15a'g were all approved by the full board, most by unanimous votes.
Appointments approved included membership on a financial-requirements ordinance work group (appointed by the chair and including commissioners Kraft, Lucido, Perna, Wallace and the chair), reappointments to the art institute authority board and the older adult advisory committee, and an executive reappointment (Don Prokopeck) to the Friend of the Court advisory committee for a three-year term.
The chair summarized procedural matters and announced that many of the items had been vetted in committee prior to the full-board vote.
