Committee approves agreements to expand CCEMS continuing medical education to include cities

The Public Safety Committee approved a resolution authorizing agreements between Chautauqua County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) and cities or other municipalities within Chautauqua County to participate in the county’s continuing medical education (CME) program for EMS personnel.
Bill Govan described the education department and the program’s role responding for EMS education for EMTs and paramedics. Committee members noted that the city of Dunkirk wishes to be involved and that Jamestown operates separately; committee discussion focused on expanding the contract language to include cities that elect to join the program.
The resolution was carried by voice vote.
