Students and staff honored at Jefferson City schools meeting

Natalie Hackman of Jefferson City High School was recognized for academic and extracurricular accomplishments, including orchestra distinctions and athletics.
The board also honored two North Elementary employees, Diana Mustaine (paraprofessional) and Ashley Craig (cafeteria cashier), after presenters said both responded calmly and effectively when two students began choking in the cafeteria on separate occasions; presenters described their actions as exemplary and named them district champions for December.
Board members invited the honorees forward for pictures and offered public congratulations; the recognitions were ceremonial and no formal action or vote was recorded in the transcript.
