Staff said the removal is intended to address safety and sight‑line concerns; work will be scheduled after the rainy season and the district plans community communication and replanting in coordination with the city.
Trustees discussed prior quotes (one at $121,000 and another at roughly $74,500) and agreed the new bid was the lowest and appropriate for this prioritized work. “It does encompass kind of all the front trees,” staff said, and trustees asked staff to coordinate communications before work begins.
On technology procurement, the board approved joining the EdTech Joint Powers Authority (EdTech JPA). Jeff, a district staff member, said the JPA has about 217 district members statewide and no cost to join; membership gives access to vendor agreements and potential pricing discounts through a consortium model. He told the board there is no obligation to use any JPA contract and any contract would still require board approval before execution.
Both items passed on voice votes.
