The Santa Rosa City Council on Dec. 10 adopted a set of consent items that included a corrected parking fee schedule and a series of compensation-related ordinance/resolution changes for certain executive positions.
Parking Division Manager Chad Hedge told the council staff had identified clerical errors in exhibits A and B for Resolution 2025-180. The corrections were limited to (1) the effective date of the rate adjustments (corrected to Jan. 1, 2026) and (2) the inclusion of a $2-per-hour premium zone lot rate for three premium lots (Lot 10, Lot 11 behind Belly, and the Depot Lot). Staff said the corrections are clerical and have no impact on the current fiscal year budget.
Separately, the City Clerk provided the Brown Act-mandated oral summaries for consent items 14.9 and 14.10, which included an ordinance to set salary and compensation for an interim city manager (annual salary $291,200 plus specified temporary housing assistance up to $3,000/month under certain conditions, $500/month auto allowance, and other executive benefits), and a resolution adjusting top-of-range salaries for a number of executive roles (assistant city manager, police chief, fire chief, director positions, CFO, CIO, city clerk, etc.). The clerk also noted a clerical omission in one exhibit and the city attorney recommended adopting the contract approved previously by resolution as the exhibit to the ordinance.
Public commenters urged fiscal caution and noted downtown business concerns about parking rate changes; staff said outreach had been conducted with downtown businesses and that some permit language aims to support employees.
Council voted unanimously to adopt the amended fee schedules and the consent items as presented with the city attorney's suggested amendment. The clerk recorded unanimous votes for the consent calendar items.
