Council corrects parking-fee exhibits and approves district fee adjustments

The City Council adopted a resolution amending clerical errors in exhibits to a previously presented parking-fees resolution and approved district and street parking fee schedules.
Parking Division staff reported that two clerical errors were found in the exhibits for resolution 2025-180: the effective date in one exhibit had been listed incorrectly and the corrected effective date is Jan. 1, 2026. Staff also described an update to Exhibit B. The presentations reiterated that these changes are intended to align fee exhibits with the resolution and that the action would not impact the current fiscal year budget.
During public comment, downtown business representatives and individual residents said fee increases could put strain on small businesses and suggested mitigations such as designated spaces for food vendors and improved garage access. A staff response noted operational options to support vendors and businesses.
Following discussion the council approved the resolution as amended. The roll call showed seven affirmative votes.
