The Public Safety Committee voted to recommend confirmation of Richard Green to a second term on the Public Safety Civil Service Commission. Chair Robert Kettle moved the recommendation to confirm appointment 3378 and a second was given; the clerk recorded the roll‑call recommendation as five in favor and none opposed.
The roll call recorded votes in favor by Council member Hollingsworth, Council member Juarez, Council president Nelson, Council member Saka and Chair Kettle. The committee's recommendation will be sent to the full City Council for final confirmation.
Andrea Shealy, executive director of the Civil Service Department, presented Green’s record in office and the department’s recent work on testing and hiring cycles for police and fire candidates; she noted Green served as commission chair in 2024 and 2025 and the proposed term would run Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2028.
