The Keizer Multimodal Safety Committee approved amended minutes from its October meeting and set a schedule for moving several pedestrian and bicycling priorities toward the 2026 budget cycle.
Chair (Speaker 2) called for approval of the minutes; Speaker 5 requested a change to clarify that Lock Haven West and East River Road remain top priorities and that other top-10 vote locations should not be removed. Speaker 3 moved the amendment, Speaker 4 seconded, and the committee approved the minutes as amended.
Members then reviewed active items for potential budget requests. Speaker 2 said the Lock Haven and River Road bike-lane painting "is just something that we're going to be bringing to budget committee again in 2026." Several members urged pairing committee recommendations with public-works data before presenting to the budget committee so requests align with staff priorities and have the best chance of support.
Speaker 8 advised a timeline to meet budget deadlines: circulate candidate lists and solicit neighborhood-association feedback in December–January, poll committee members in February, and forward ranked priorities to staff so the budget committee can consider them by spring. The committee directed staff to circulate the city work-session material and agreed to reconvene on the item in January with a plan for outreach.
The meeting closed with administrative notes, recognition of departing volunteer Brenda (Speaker 6) and confirmation the committee will not meet in December; the next meeting is Jan. 15.
