Human resources presented background noting recent resignations had left planning with only two professional staff and that salary savings and existing budget lines would partially fund the hires.
Henny Ring of Administration and Human Resources told the board the accounting manager position would be funded for approximately seven months from the roads fund and that the planner assistant would be covered by salary savings and an available cannabis-project budget allocation; HR estimated the planner position would not exceed $58,500 through June 30, 2026.
A public commenter, Julia Salinas, urged the county to hire more than the two positions given recent departures and said staff were "overwhelmed." The board approved the recommendation and directed HR to recruit and to pursue consultant help where necessary to keep projects on schedule.
