Zoning Administrator Amber Blasinski approved a two‑year extension on Dec. 10 for a previously authorized development at 705 West Dana Street, allowing more time to implement a planned community permit, development review permit, a provisional use permit for a ground‑floor restaurant and upper‑floor administrative office, and a heritage tree removal permit.
The decision follows a staff presentation by assistant planner Tristan White, who described the project as an 18,800‑square‑foot commercial building on a 0.23‑acre site at the southwest corner of West Dana Street and Hope Street. White told the hearing staff’s review found the application unchanged from the originally approved plan and recommended approval on the basis of findings and the previously issued CEQA categorical exemption for infill development (CEQA Guidelines §15332).
White also identified the property owner as AJL Investment Group, LLC and said the owner filed the extension request on Sept. 9, 2025. A virtual representative for the applicant confirmed they were present but had no separate presentation; the project planner remained available to answer questions.
Blasinski closed public comment for the item and said she would move to approve the extension “based on the findings and conditions posted online, and the application materials reviewed by city staff.” She reminded the public the administrative decision is appealable to the Mountain View City Council within 10 calendar days.
The zoning administrator’s approval preserves the earlier project approvals and the CEQA determination; any appeal to the council would be the next formal opportunity for reconsideration.
