At the end of the Dec. 17 informal meeting, a board member moved that the Savannah‑Chatham County Board of Education go into executive session "for discussions of safety, personnel, real estate, and other legal matters." The motion was made by Speaker 5, seconded by Speaker 11, and the board recorded an oral "Aye." The board then prepared to recess into closed session.
The motion occurred after informational presentations and questions; earlier in the meeting the president had reminded attendees that the session was informal and that no votes would be taken as part of the information meeting.
