Board notes tree‑lighting turnout, hires project coordinator and bids farewell to longtime commissioner

He reminded the board that their next meeting in January will fall one week later than usual (January 21) and that they will review the next draft of the biodiversity and urban forest plan and discuss election of officers.
Members offered extended remarks thanking Commissioner Steve Filios for long service across two terms, noting roughly 14 years of total service, and asked him to continue offering feedback on plans as he steps away from the commission.
The meeting adjourned until January.
