Keizer — The Keizer Parks and Recreation Advisory Board handled routine business at its Dec. 9 meeting, approving October minutes, assigning parks to board members for the coming year and reviewing upcoming projects and events.
The board approved the October minutes (motion moved by Tanya, seconded by Lisa) and then proceeded through staff reports. Parks staff and volunteers described recent maintenance and installation work, notably flagpole bases and monument lighting supported by Salem Electric and Salem Concrete. The board announced a dedication for the Veterans memorial planned for Feb. 7 at 11:00 a.m.; the monument is expected to be delivered in January.
Members also selected which parks they will oversee next year (examples recorded at the meeting include Clear Lake and Bear Park, Meadows and Hidden Creek, Country Glen and Ben Miller, Keizer Little League and Northridge), and the chair asked staff to confirm assignments and follow up in the next meeting.
No formal policy decisions beyond the routine approvals and the previously described grant vote were taken.
