At its Dec. 9 meeting the Paducah Board of Commissioners approved routine consent items and a municipal order appointing Audra Kyle as director of finance.
The consent agenda was approved in a single motion and roll call and included approval of the Nov. 25, 2025 meeting minutes, the reappointment of Greg McKeel to the Brooks Stadium Commission with a term expiring Dec. 5, 2029, and authorization of a contract with Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing Inc. for up to $153,000 for engineering and design services for Greenway Trail Phase 7 south side expansion.
City manager told the commission a nationwide search for director of finance produced a top candidate from within the department and recommended Audra Kyle for the post. The board approved the employment agreement and authorized the mayor to execute it.
Mayor Bray congratulated Kyle on the appointment and the city manager said "now the hard work begins." The appointment was approved by roll call vote.
What happens next: Audra Kyle will assume responsibilities as director of finance under the terms of the approved employment agreement; the engineering contract will proceed under its authorization.
