Paducah expands South Side housing and development incentives for revitalization

The Paducah Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 9 to adopt an ordinance replacing a pilot incentive program with an expanded set of homeowner and developer grants as part of the South Side revitalization plan.
The ordinance abolishes Ordinance No. 2023-O6-8782 and authorizes the director of planning and urban renewal and the community development agency to administer the new incentive programs and provide financial assistance for repairs, remodels, reconstruction and new home construction in the South Side area.
Mayor Bray said staff and planning department personnel "worked real hard" on the program, and commissioners approved the ordinance by roll call after prior discussions and outreach.
What happens next: Planning and urban renewal staff will administer the expanded incentives and work with eligible applicants to use grant assistance for housing repairs and redevelopment in the South Side revitalization area.
