Morgan Township trustees swore in two newly elected officials and completed several organizational steps at their Dec. 22 meeting.

Judge Kelly Hailey administered the oath to Robert Brett Upteick and Kyle Day, who each thanked voters and outgoing trustees. After a brief break, trustees set 2026 officers: Tom Brucker as chair, Brett Updike as vice chair and Kyle Day as trustee-at-large. The board also set its meetings for the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. and agreed that there will no longer be a 10 a.m. morning meeting.

The trustees voted to name Tom Brucker as the Butler County EMA representative and Kyle Day as the Butler County Health Department representative for 2026. All motions on officers, schedule and representative assignments were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.

The actions finalize the township's leadership and schedule ahead of the new year, and the board asked staff to post meeting times and agendas publicly.
