The Muhlenberg County Board of Education paused its agenda to recognize Jude Gardner, a sophomore at Yulebra County High School, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and for leading a community project to build and improve an obstacle course used by the JROTC program.

A presenter told the board Jude designed and organized the construction, completed grant applications and raised funds to enhance the school's training course, and dedicated the site to Muhlenberg County veterans. The presenter noted Jude “received the Youth Citizen of the Year Award” at the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber awards dinner and invited Jude and his family for a certificate presentation and photos.

The board congratulated Jude and encouraged his family to join for more photos after the meeting.
