The Placerville Recreation and Parks Commission voted to change its regular monthly meeting day to the third Tuesday of the month, beginning Feb. 17, to better align with the schedules of adjacent commissions and city council.
Staff explained the planning commission recently revised its schedule, creating an available Tuesday slot. Commissioners discussed scheduling conflicts (work commitments, youth sports, and a January holiday) and whether to begin the change in January or February. Several commissioners noted they could accommodate the change beginning in February; Speaker 6 moved to adopt the change and Speaker 5 seconded. The motion passed with unanimous assent.
Why it matters: The change is intended to standardize meeting days across municipal boards and make it easier for the public to anticipate city meetings. Staff said the city website and calendars will be updated to reflect the new schedule.
Next steps: Staff will post the revised meeting schedule, adjust online calendars and notify commissioners and the public of the new recurring meeting date.
