Montgomery County board hears updates on Percy Julian, Capitol Heights and multiple school renovations

Montgomery County Board of Education members received a broad facilities update Dec. 11 that covered progress on major construction projects, pending change orders and a slate of building renovations across the district.
Laura Penn of Volker reported the new Percy Julian High School project is about 15% complete and remains on track for turnover in December 2027. She told the board the contractor has started overhead structural steel and that concrete work and storm shelter footings are under way. The board was shown a MultiVista fly-through of the site.
