Staff explained the requested release involves a five‑foot drainage and utility easement on the north side of Lot 5B; the release is authorized to allow a pending sale and closing to proceed. The council approved the easement release; one council member recorded an abstention.
Planning staff (Mr. Genigas) said the planning commission recommended approval of multiple plats and amended plats including Maui Farms (Lot 53), Westwood (plot 5 Block 3), a Herring addition combining three lots, and a Sunnyside subdivision amendment that increased an ingress/egress easement from 10 to 20 feet. A separate item related to acquisition of a parcel to support a bike trail and sidewalk connection was clarified as not being for Mitchell Christian School expansion but to extend sidewalk and retain the right of way for the city after construction.
Council approved each resolution/plat as presented.
