At the start of the meeting, the council welcomed students who led the pledge of allegiance and then held a swearing‑in ceremony for two new Oroville Police Department officers, Adrian Lee and Christian Bean. Chief Jason Wines introduced and administered the oath; family, councilmembers and staff offered congratulations.
Councilmembers also publicly thanked sponsors and volunteers from the recent city parade and the Downtown Oroville Business Association, and read Resolution 9425 to recognize Jennifer Cooper’s work arranging student visits and civic engagement opportunities. Several councilmembers urged residents to participate in upcoming holiday outreach: a community Christmas dinner and toy giveaway hosted by the Oroville Resource Center and Rescue Mission.
These items were ceremonial or informational; no policy decisions were made in these segments beyond recognition and routine acknowledgement.
