BPAC reviews and acknowledges city code of ethics

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission conducted its annual review of the City of Sunnyvale code of ethics for elected and appointed officials on Dec. 18. Staff presented the code and asked each commissioner to confirm they had reviewed and acknowledged it.
Chip Taylor, the city’s public works director, urged members to conduct disagreements professionally and reminded commissioners that staff are constrained by state and federal laws when making recommendations. Five commissioners stated on the record that they had reviewed and acknowledged the code.
Staff said materials remain available through the city manager’s office and that commissioners who were absent could follow up with staff for acknowledgement. The review produced no formal changes; commissioners were asked to note any recommended edits to include in future council-bound motions.
