The Public Works & Infrastructure committee approved a low-bid roadway striping contract and a separate award for pedestrian safety beacons.
The striping contract (low-bid 2025‑016ITB) was recommended for Peak Pavement Marking LLC in an amount not to exceed $460,008.90 to replace thermoplastic pavement markings on portions of 10 county roadways, including Chamblee‑Tucker Road (I‑85 to Northcrest) and multiple corridors highlighted by Director Keeter. Commissioner Johnson moved the item and it carried unanimously by committee voice vote.
Separately, the committee approved a contract with GTG Traffic Signals LLC not to exceed $82,857 to install rectangular rapid flashing beacons on Henderson Mill Road, Evans Road and Flowers Road. Director Keeter noted the beacon package is concentrated in District 1 locations; commissioners had no objection and approved the award.
Commissioners asked for follow-up emails with the complete list of road segments for transparency to constituents. Director Keeter agreed to provide that list.
