School Committee approves GCB at-will contract template and superintendent goals

The School Committee approved a template for at-will contracts to be used for a small set of noncertified employees (GCB) who currently lack individualized agreements. Committee members clarified that the motion approved the form/template only; completed contracts with names, salaries and dates will be returned to the committee for approval when ready. Administrators said roughly six employees currently lack individual contracts and would receive contracts using the approved template.

Separately, the committee voted to approve the superintendent's goals for 2025-26, incorporating changes discussed at the prior meeting. The superintendent's report had outlined district priorities and noted substantial ongoing work related to federal program monitoring and school safety.

Committee discussion about the template focused on ensuring the template would be used as a form for future individual contracts, and members asked for clarity on which positions fall under the GCB policy. Administration said the template will be used only for employees who do not already have a contract and that completed contracts will be presented for committee action when prepared.
