An unidentified county commissioner told the committee that the agreement is calculated on a three‑year average and that the state agrees to pay the county up to the stated dollar amount. "This year, we're increasing our budget set by $70,000. So we'll be amending our contract from well, up to $1,092,241," the commissioner said. The commissioner added that if the county spends more than the agreed amount during the season, the county will seek an amendment the following year and the state will pay the amount above what was actually spent.
The committee recorded a motion to approve the amendment by Mister McCarter and a second by Mister Burgher; members responded by voice vote and the motion carried.
The authorization changes the county's contract cap; county staff will process the formal amendment with the New York State Department of Transportation. The transcript did not include a specific timetable for final execution of the amendment.
