Board approves athletics upgrades: track resurfacing, goalposts and extra throwing spaces

Separately, the board approved purchase of additional aluminum shot/discus rings to create two more throwing spaces; Speaker 4 noted drainage and preparation work (over‑excavation with clean rock) is required and that concrete pricing was not yet specified. Speaker 6 suggested staff investigate laser measurement devices used at other meets to speed event timing and scoring.
Motion and votes: the board approved the goalpost/discus-pole item and the shot/discus materials by voice vote. Staff will coordinate placement of new equipment with the athletic director and schedule work to minimize impact on the track season.
