ROCORI board certifies $7.71 million levy after Truth-in-Taxation review

The presenter said the district’s proposed general levy rose modestly from $4,753,739.45 to $4,777,423.41 — an increase of about $23,683.96 (approximately 0.50%).
The presenter also detailed other levy lines: a community-service levy increase to about $195,171.01 (13.84% increase) and a slight reduction in certain debt-service levy lines compared with the prior year. The presenter said the district’s total all-funds budget for 2025–26 is approximately $44,000,692 and estimated proposed expenditures of about $44,875,056.
Resident Brent Neissinger thanked the district for fiscal stewardship and raised concerns about rising property costs in the county; staff responded that property valuations are set by the county assessor and that district tax shares depend on statutory formulas and pupil counts.
Board member Kayla moved to approve the levy certification resolution; Robin seconded. The board took a roll-call vote and recorded five ayes; the resolution carried.
What happens next: staff will certify the levy to the Stearns County auditor and post supporting materials; the levy certification will be used in the district’s budget planning.
