Delray CRA and planning board back updated West Atlantic (SETT) master plan after months of outreach

Renee Jaddisingh, executive director of the Delray Beach CRA, summarized outreach and revisions: updated demographics and maps, clearer references to community gathering spaces, new emphasis on civic stewardship and community wealth building, and a stand‑alone implementation plan intended to be a living, editable document that the CRA and community can update without re‑adopting the entire master plan. The CRA emphasized a continued priority to recruit a supermarket and other neighborhood services.
Board members praised the outreach and the document’s focus on community‑led initiatives. Several commissioners urged explicit historic‑preservation language, and the CRA said the plan already includes expanded text on the Carver High site and other local assets. The CRA also agreed to continue working with the Downtown Development Authority and other stakeholders on marketing and place‑making elements.
The board voted to recommend approval to the City Commission; staff said remaining technical cleanups and consistency edits would be completed before transmittal. The CRA indicated it aims for City Commission consideration in early 2026.
What’s next: The recommendation moves the document to further city staff review and to the City Commission; a separate implementation plan will be used to track and revise priorities such as community land‑trust options, affordable housing, and recruitment of a supermarket for the West Atlantic area.
