HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. — In the Dec. 2 regular session, the Harris County Commission approved routine minutes from the Nov. 4, 2015 meeting and voted to adopt a standardized Harris County airport land‑lease review process the airport committee recommended.
The chairman introduced the airport committee’s proposal and moved to approve the land‑lease process, which the board carried without recorded roll‑call votes. County Manager reported ongoing coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the TIA on a Mountain Hill Road realignment project, saying the TIA had allocated $5,000,000 to Harris County for that work to be paid in phases and reimbursed. The manager also noted internal efforts to implement new ADP software and referenced the recent death of a county employee, which has affected office workload.
After those items the board recessed for a public hearing on a separate rezoning application near Veterans Parkway and Grama Rock Road. The hearing included an applicant presentation, extensive public comment and a final vote (reported separately).
