Summary
Lumina Lounge, a recently opened venue, agreed to hire a police detail, move last-call procedures earlier and prepare a remediation/management plan; the licensing commission granted a 30-day period to present the written plan and monitor compliance.
Lumina Lounge, a relatively new nightlife venue in Revere, was given 30 days by the licensing commission to formalize a remediation plan after police reports of altercations and people remaining in the establishment after 2:00 a.m.
Attorney Gabriella D'Ambrosio, newly retained, told the commission the venue has already hired a police detail, implemented last-call and tab-closure procedures (alcohol service stops at 1:30 a.m.; tabs closed by 1:45 a.m.) and that the management has been cooperative. Sergeant Fantasia told commissioners that the venue’s problems to date centered on crowd control and, in one report, security staff involvement in a physical altercation; he acknowledged the venue has used details sporadically and that detail presence appeared to help when in place.
Commissioners who had observed the venue on a recent night said they saw responsible management that night but noted multiple reports over a short opening period were concerning. The board granted 30 days for Lumina Lounge to return with a detailed written remediation plan and said it will monitor police reports during the interval.
