The Johnson County Drains Board on Dec. 2 approved Pleasant Creek Section 2 (DR250333618) with four contingencies required by county staff.
The county surveyor recommended approval contingent on (1) a final letter from Burke/BERC addressing two outstanding items, (2) bonds for the outlets, (3) a 20-foot pullback for the outlets, and (4) 48-hour notice before construction starts. The surveyor said he did not expect the outstanding items to be a problem and recommended moving forward with the conditional approval.
An online participant, Gavin Baker, was present but made no substantive comments during the board’s discussion. A board member moved to approve the subdivision with the four conditions and the motion passed by voice vote.
Why it matters: the conditions address construction, bonding and coordination items that affect how surface water from the subdivision will be managed and who will be responsible for outlet infrastructure. The county’s action allows the developer to proceed after submitting required documentation.
