At its Nov. 24 meeting the Verona Common Council approved routine finance and parks items including payment of bills and a design contract award for the city's skate park.
Alder Helmke moved to approve payments totaling $858,428.53; she noted two large invoices: a $100,000 payment to ICE Inc. (final tourism payment) and a $404,827 payment to James Pat Peterson Sons Inc. for Mark Drive rehabilitation. The motion passed by voice vote.
In parks business, Alder Tucker Long moved to award the Verona Skate Park design contract to New Line Skateparks for a fee not to exceed $79,965; the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission had unanimously recommended New Line and staff said the funding was already allocated in the 2025 budget. The motion passed by voice vote.
These items were routine approvals included as committee reports; council did not identify outstanding controversy on these items at the meeting.
