Port Orchard approves CivicPlus contract for website, records and meeting software ($55,960)

The Port Orchard City Council authorized a purchase and contract with CivicPlus on Dec. 16 to provide a new city website, an upgraded public-records request platform, and agenda-management software.
Brandy Wallace (clerk/IT staff) told council the procurement followed the city’s selection process and that staff will piggyback off an available GSA contract to secure competitive pricing. The contract was described as a bundled purchase to streamline public access to minutes, packets and audio recordings on a single page and eliminate separate logins for public-records requests.
Council asked about ongoing costs. Staff said year-one costs total about $51,000 and year two about $42,000, with maintenance increases typically in the 5–8% range; the motion approved authorizes the mayor to sign an agreement not to exceed $55,960 including taxes. Staff projected a 3–6 month implementation window and said data transfer and redaction functionality would be supported by the vendor during implementation.
