At its Nov. 25 meeting the Abington Board of School Directors approved routine business items including personnel changes, the district financial report for the period ending Oct. 31, 2025, payment of bills, permits for building use and one contract award.
Miss Brown read the personnel recommendation (addendum 6.1), which included leaves of absence and one appointment; Superintendent Doctor Fetcher noted the retirement of Dr. Matthew Wexler, coordinator of student services at Abington Middle School, after 26 years of service. The personnel motion passed on a roll call vote.
Miss Denicola summarized the October financial report: year‑to‑date revenues totaled $130,069,073 compared with $133,777,643 for the same period last year, a decrease of roughly $3.7 million attributed to delayed state and federal funding. Year‑to‑date expenditures were reported at $54,704,646, reflecting contractually obligated costs including salaries and benefits. The board approved the financial report and the payment of bills by roll call votes.
The board also approved applications for use of buildings and grounds and awarded a contract for interactive classroom panels (addendum 11.1). District staff explained the chosen vendor’s higher price reflected an extended warranty (seven years total expected life) compared with a lower‑cost alternative; the board approved the award on roll call.
All routine items were approved without recorded opposition; administration said it would return with more complete financing and procurement details as actions progress.
