The Norfolk County Commissioners on Dec. 3 approved a set of routine personnel and finance items, including a notice of appointment at the Norfolk County Agricultural School, grouped resignations, student labor rate changes, payroll and expense warrants and the 2026 holiday calendar.
A motion to appoint "Erin Hayes" as animal science foreperson at the agricultural high school was moved and seconded and approved by roll call. (The transcript later refers to the appointee as "Aaron Hayes," an inconsistency recorded in the meeting record.) Commissioners recorded a unanimous vote in favor of the appointment.
The board approved grouped notices of resignation for several school and program staff members with effective dates of Nov. 21, 2025, including Samantha Abrams, Claire Amador, Alysa Cole, Louis Guzman, Jessica Neves, Sarah Radnoff and Thomas Rouhana. Commissioners also approved grouped rate changes for a roster of student laborers with an effective date of Dec. 4, 2025.
In finance votes, commissioners approved a payroll warrant in the amount of $143,875.56 and an expense warrant totaling $125,296.97. The board also approved a Walther Recreational Facility credit-card payment of $12,760; all three motions were adopted by roll call.
Procurement staff recommended renewing a one-year contract for services at the agricultural high school with Steven McAllister, the only bidder identified in the record for that line item. Commissioners approved the contract. The transcript lists the contract term as '01/01/1926 to 12/31/1926,' which procurement staff and the meeting context indicate is a transcription error; the county described the award as a one‑year agreement beginning Jan. 1.
Director Cronin presented the proposed 2026 county holiday calendar and commissioners voted to adopt the calendar as presented, subject to future changes.
Roll-call results in the transcript show the motions were carried by unanimous votes where recorded. Several items were handled as grouped motions for efficiency rather than individual roll calls on each name.
Next procedural steps noted in the meeting: staff will execute and sign contracts that were approved and continue routine administrative follow-up on personnel and procurement matters.
