The California Acupuncture Board Licensing & Education Committee voted to accept the committee minutes from June 12, 2025 after public commenters asked for additional detail to be added to the record. Member Leon moved to accept the minutes; Chair Francisco Kim seconded and a roll-call vote passed the motion.
During public comment, Neil Miller said the minutes did not capture a multi-page presentation delivered to the board and urged staff to include the materials. "A paragraph this big does not handle these 4 pages of it ... It is a disservice to the public to not be able to basically capture the presentation that was made," Miller said. The committee said it would seek to post materials provided to the board as supplemental documents on the board website.
The action closed a procedural item early in the meeting before the committee turned to a substantive agenda about education standards, degree titles, prerequisites, science requirements and clinical training. The committee did not modify the minutes on the record beyond the motion to accept; staff said they would explore adding submitted materials online as supplemental files.
