Westmont board signs off on Lions Spring Fling, approves fleet and phone contracts

The Village of Westmont on Dec. 11 approved a suite of community-event and vendor items, including a four-day Westmont Lions 'Spring Fling' (May 21–24, 2026), a master services agreement with ClearPath GPS for non-police vehicle cameras and GPS, a three-year Nextiva cloud phone-service contract, and reapproval of the Westmont Center lease with Westmont Special Events Corporation.
Alicia (event presenter) and Dan (Lions Club) described the Spring Fling's new location on West Quincy Street (Cass to Adams), a fireworks display, alcohol service, 24 rides, music across four days and a plan to use village and Burlington parking; Dan said organizers had obtained required permits and intended to work with local businesses on logistics. "We have 24 rides scheduled for this coming year," Dan said in presenting event details.
IT Director Loja Berg described ClearPath GPS as a 1-to-1 replacement for in-car cameras and GPS for non-police vehicles and estimated contract costs at about $24,000 (annual recurring monthly charges plus some upfront fees). Director Lijeburger described Nextiva as an 18-year phone-system replacement moving to an IP-hosted cloud model to improve emergency flexibility and texting capability. The board approved the contracts and event by roll call.
Additionally, the consent agenda approved two finance ordinances (totaling roughly $4.59 million in payments), purchase orders for police vehicles and other equipment, and the October 2025 treasurer's report. The board approved all consent items by roll call.
