Board approves Class 3 liquor license change for Taqueria El Ranchito

The Westmont Village Board voted Nov. 20 to increase the number of available Class 3 liquor licenses by one and decrease Class 4 by one to accommodate Taqueria El Ranchito at 323 West 63rd Street.
Staff and trustees noted the restaurant currently holds beer and wine authority and requested a Class 3 license so the owner can offer mixed drinks (tequila and other spirits). Village staff clarified that the approval allows a service bar where staff prepare mixed drinks but does not authorize a full bar with patrons seated at a long bar.
The motion to approve was made by Trustee Linda Little, seconded by Trustee Matt Scales, and passed on roll call.
