Fulton City School District board approves routine items, hears athletics update and discusses policy manual audit

The Fulton City School District board on a 6-0 vote approved several routine consent items and personnel actions, accepted a memorandum of agreement with the Fulton Teachers Association, and authorized an overnight ski-club trip while hearing a student-led celebration of fall athletics and discussing a proposed audit and rewrite of the district policy manual.

District staff presented a discussion of the policy manual, saying parts of the district policy set were dated and inconsistent with recent updates. The superintendent said he would consult with Erie 1 about whether a separate audit step is necessary.

The board approved specific motions on a roll-call basis: acceptance of financials (action 5.01), approval of the committee on special education (action 6.01), authorization of the overnight ski-club field trip (action 6.02) to Holiday Valley Resort (students pay their own way; "no cost to the district"), acceptance of the memorandum of agreement with the Fulton Teachers Association (action 6.03), and a batch of personnel actions (7.01–7.04). The meeting concluded with board forum remarks thanking coaches, staff and students for the year’s work and encouraging community engagement.
