Everett council authorizes $183,470 settlement in former firefighter workers' compensation claim

"We're hoping for a motion to authorize the mayor to execute an agreement to settle a workers' compensation claim by former firefighter Jason Hague in the amount of $183,470," Hall said. An unidentified council member moved to approve and Council member Ryan seconded the motion. The council took roll call and recorded unanimous approval from members present.
The authorization allows the mayor to execute the settlement agreement; David Hall indicated potential counsel action would follow on one of the matters discussed in executive session. The council did not discuss settlement terms on the public record beyond the settlement amount and authorization to execute the agreement.
The council adjourned immediately after recording the vote.
