Santa Fe utilities committee honors Councilor Romero Worth and recognizes employee of the month

The Santa Fe Public Works and Utilities Committee used part of its Dec. 1 meeting to thank Councilor Romero Worth for eight years of service and to present Taylor Jurgen of the Water Division as the Public Utilities employee of the month for November.
A Public Utilities Department representative told the committee it had been "an honor and a privilege to to work with her, and she has been a champion for us," and presented a small token of appreciation to the councilor. Committee members described Worth as knowledgeable and a steadying presence who elevated water conservation discussions over her tenure.
The committee also recognized Taylor Jurgen for his work on two projects that reached major milestones in November. A staff member read a nomination noting that Jurgen started with the water division in 2022, helped the Nichols Dam Outlet Works rehabilitation reach substantial completion on Nov. 6, and led rollout of an asset management software upgrade that had been in development for about five years. The nomination described the Nichols Dam rehabilitation as "a $20,000,000 construction project that reached substantial completion on schedule and within budget." Jurgen thanked his colleagues and the committee for the recognition.
The committee moved from the recognition into scheduled presentations, including the discussion of a proposed water rate increase and rate‑structure change.
