RSU 04 board extends meeting, postpones several items and appoints special-education teacher

Facing a late hour, the Regional School Unit Number 4 board voted to extend the meeting past 9:00 PM and then discussed which remaining agenda items to take up. By voice/raise-hand vote the board agreed to postpone agenda items 6.1, 7.2 and 7.3 to the next regular meeting scheduled for December 10, 2025.
The board then considered personnel business. On a motion and second recorded in the transcript, the board approved the superintendents recommendation to appoint Jennifer Cormier as a special-education teacher at Cary Ricker School, a hire reported as unanimous in the meeting record.
During committee reports, the Personnel & Policy committee announced that Policy JKAA (restraint and seclusion) will be updated to reflect recent statutory changes and will appear for first reading on December 10. The board did not adopt changes to that policy at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:09 PM.
