HUNT COUNTY — Representatives of the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Texas briefed the Commissioners Court on youth programming and enrollment gains.
Miss Brenda, speaking for the club, described fall activities and a prevention program that served about 30 children at the Greenville site. She said the club runs a selection process to identify a "youth of the year" candidate and that the club is preparing a Youth of the Year gala in February. "For us, we use that as a life experience where kids get to talk to each other and learn these life skills on how to communicate healthy," Brenda said.
Brenda introduced Kadeem Johnson as the club’s new Greenville club director, who joined in summer and has worked to raise enrollment at the site from roughly 70 back toward the early‑year figure of about 94. Commissioners welcomed the club’s staff and expressed appreciation for their work with children across Hunt County. No county action was requested.
