Reyes Fitness Professionals told the Development Review Committee on Nov. 19 that it plans to hold a returning '12K of Christmas' run and walk at Northwest Recreation on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Lexi of Recreation said the event will have about 50 participants, a 10-by-10 tent, course signage and water stations along the sidewalks and trail.
"There'll be about 50 people," Lexi said, describing the setup and confirming there would be no alcohol and no private security company hired for the event. Organizers expect to use parking at Gates 1 through 4 at the park and to keep the course on sidewalks and existing trails.
DRC staff and department representatives raised no objections during the meeting. The police, public works, fire and building reviewers did not register comments that would block the permit at the DRC stage. With departments signaling no immediate concerns, staff indicated routine permit follow-ups and site plans would be handled through standard permitting channels.
The DRC did not take a formal vote on the permit in the public meeting record; with no outstanding comments recorded, staff will process final permitting steps as appropriate.
