Volunteers, road closures and food trucks set for Middleton Art Walk

Michelle, chair of the Middleton Arts Committee, told members the Art Walk plan is "in pretty good shape" and thanked staffer Scott for coordinating logistics as volunteers are recruited for early-morning and evening shifts. "Scott's been doing an awesome job," she said.
Organizers outlined a staggered street-closure plan to let artists load in: Abby will arrive about 5:00 a.m. to mark stalls and Scott will follow to place barricades; the committee said the street is partially barricaded around 5:30 a.m. with a full closure when artists are set. Volunteers were urged to sign up via the committee's signup list; the organizers said they especially need people for traffic control during the 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. window.
The committee said 65 artists are registered for the Art Walk and eight food trucks will operate at the Terrace this year, five of them returning from prior years. Michelle explained that food trucks at the Terrace are "grandfathered" and do not pay an extra vendor fee at that location, though individual trucks must hold whatever local licenses are required to operate.
Family programming will include a Bubbles & Beats event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the organizer said she will run a playlist, expects to need modest sound support and has 21 gallons of bubble mix for kids'corner activities. Committee members agreed to supply a microphone and to coordinate sound checks before programming.
Organizers also reviewed day'of details: artist packets with Festa Bucks and maps will be distributed; wide burgundy ribbons and tags will mark booths that are part of the silent auction; and Scott reported barricades, cones and signage are assembled and largely ready for deployment. Volunteers and downtown business partners were encouraged to help direct visitors to restaurants and shops after event hours.
The committee closed the discussion by asking members to share the volunteer signup and to arrive early on the event day to assist with setup.
