Planning Commission approves minutes, excuses absent commissioner, cancels Jan. meeting and postpones officer elections

The Milton Planning Commission took several procedural actions at its Dec. 10 meeting.
Excused absence: Commissioner Johnson moved to excuse Commissioner Boyle from the meeting; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Zarrow and carried 4 to 0.
Approval of minutes: Commissioners approved amended minutes for Oct. 7, 2025. Commissioner Johnson moved to approve the minutes as amended (deleting an extraneous phrase in the roll-call excused language); the motion was seconded and carried 4 to 0.
Schedule change: Commissioner Oler moved to cancel the Planning Commission's regular January meeting scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026; Commissioner Zarrow seconded. "All those in favor of canceling the meeting, signify by saying aye," the Chair said; the motion carried unanimously.
Elections postponed: The commission voted to postpone election of commission officers to the February meeting scheduled for Feb. 11, 2026. Commissioner Zarrow moved to postpone and Commissioner Oler seconded; the motion carried 4 to 0.
Next steps: Staff will circulate materials during January so the commission can prepare for the February meeting and the planned public hearing on the tree code.
