Beavercreek honors outgoing council members, swears in new officer

Beavercreek City Council opened its December meeting by honoring two departing members and swearing in a new police officer.
Mayor and council presented certificates of accommodation to Councilwoman Tiffany Schwartz (six years of service) and Councilwoman Joanna Lafonti Garcia (eight years). Both members spoke during council time, reflecting on accomplishments including police staffing increases, Spring House Park acquisitions and participation in regional boards. Councilwoman Schwartz said the role had been an honor and a privilege; Councilwoman Garcia recalled personal moments and thanked staff and fellow council members.
Chief Lindsey introduced Jacob Kowalski, who was sworn in that morning and whose background includes graduating from the Sinclair Police Academy. Kowalski addressed council: “I just wanna start by thanking you for this opportunity. I'm very excited to serve my community and be a part of Beavercreek. This has been a dream come true of mine.” Council members offered congratulations and personal tributes to the outgoing council members.
