During old and new business council members promoted local community events. S3 and S2 mentioned the Farmers Market (start date not yet set) and the Kiwanis Christmas Eve gift program, which will accept donations beginning Dec. 12 at three drop-off points: the Franklin Fire Department, the Harvey Fire Department, and the Kiwanis Center on Port Lakes Drive.
S3 also promoted a 'Burgers and Badges' fundraiser at McDonald's on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m., with 15% of sales benefiting local families; council members suggested supporters may also donate by check directly to community food banks.
