On first reading the board approved rezoning measures for multiple parcels at 0 Wilson Avenue to R‑3 (Ord. No. 16672) and for 0 East Deckard Street to C‑3 (Ord. No. 16673). Planning staff explained the rezonings address lot‑size technicalities, legalize existing parcel configurations or preserve owner flexibility while allowing residential uses.
Appointment and personnel: The board confirmed Eric Pierce as director of public works after an internal posting and interview process. City Administrator praised Pierce’s experience and interview panel members endorsed his selection; the vote was 7–0. The board also recognized outgoing public‑works employee Butch Taylor and held a retirement send‑off announcement.
Organizational chart: The board approved an updated City of Tullahoma organizational chart that separates the city recorder and HR responsibilities on the diagram; debate focused on whether HR should report to the city administrator or directly to the board.
